Age Concern Wiltshire and Community First have launched an exciting new project that will result in many more Wiltshire pensioners claiming and receiving their benefit entitlement. The project is funded by the Pension Service Partnership Fund to ensure that those pensioners who are not fully aware of what is available are fully informed about their benefit entitlement and assisted with the application process.

The Benefits Take Up Project Launch

The Benefits Take Up Project is focusing in the parishes of Atworth, Hilperton, Holt and Broughton Gifford for the next five months. Trained volunteers will deliver the project with support from the new Benefits Take Up Project worker and other Age Concern Wiltshire staff. The team will be giving talks and presentations about the project to various community groups in the area. They will then follow up any queries by visiting people in their own homes for confidential benefits checks and to help fill out any neccessary forms.

If any one would like more information about benefits or know of an organisation that would be pleased to receive a Benefits Take Up Talk then please contact Christine Tucker on 01380 735500 or email emily.cole@acwilts.co.uk. If you want to help older people and have some time to offer to visit people at home then please contact Sally Middleton on 01380 727767. With help from volunteers both older people and our local economy will benefit from this valuable project.
